The Amazon Rainforest, often referred to as the Earth’s lungs, is crucial for the global carbon cycle. However, it faces significant threats due to deforestation caused by industrial activities. Expansive soy plantations, cattle ranching and mining operations have replaced large forested areas. Additionally, monoculture plantations of palm and eucalyptus further exacerbate the loss of ecological diversity. This situation has serious implications for biodiversity, carbon emissions, and the overall health of the Amazon rainforest, being a vulnerable tipping point.

“Entropy” is an experimental film and an artistic commentary on the current state of deforestation in the Amazon rainforest. Developed using Cinema4D and Stable Diffusion it depicts various industries responsible for large-scale deforestation in the Amazon and aims to provoke discourse around the real cost of urban consumerist habits, encouraging the audience to reconsider their consumption patterns and be climate conscious.

The immersive film was premiered on 24th July 2024 at the Outernet London for private view.
