West Bengal, with an estimated population of over 100,000,000 in 2021, has around 1.8% of the population suffering from severe mental-disorders, the highest in India. Anitta is a short film that explores the intricacies of a mentally-ill adolescent in remission and how he copes with an inexplicable dilemma.

Set in suburban West Bengal, the film aims to paint a texture of how society feels like from a schizophrenic's perspective, aiming to raise awareness about mental-illnesses in a light that humanizes the severely mentally-ill, reminding audiences that the so-called 'lunatics' are a much bigger threat to themselves than they are to society.
